Some people believe that they can learn better by themselves than with a teacher. Others think that it is always better to have a teacher. Which method do you prefer? Use specific reasons and examples to support your stand.

The process of learning is undoubtedly a very personal thing. A study arrangement that works for one person need not necessarily work for another person. Personally, I prefer instructor based learning to independent study for several reasons.
First of all, teachers don’t just repeat what is written in the text book; they also add knowledge they acquired through their reading, research and experience. This allows them to present the subject in a comprehensive manner and as a result, students learn more.
Students who learn from a teacher are far more motivated than students who learn on their own. Having someone to supervise your performance will encourage us to work harder.
While I was at school, I recall feeling compelled to complete my homework because I knew my teachers expected me to complete them. Of course, this arrangement put me under pressure, but in retrospect I feel that it helped me learn the need to be responsible. I always managed to get high grades, but I don’t think I would be able to achieve them without the guidance of my teacher.
In addition, teachers monitor your progress regularly. This allows you to identify areas where you need to improve. Teachers can also make learning more interesting. A good teacher can teach even a boring subject in an interesting manner. This helps students.
While I was at university, I had a professor who would teach astrophysics in an animated manner. His passion for the subject and the way he presented it instilled interest in us and helped us learn the subject faster. In my opinion, this is the biggest advantage of learning with a teacher. They accelerate the speed with which you learn the subject.
When you study on your own, you do not have any one to clear your doubts. Of course, these days you can search online and find answers. But the knowledge that teachers impart is one notch higher than the knowledge obtained from self-study.
To conclude, learning from a teacher is more beneficial than independent study in many respects. Although everyone has their own preference, I have benefited from having a teacher to interact with. However, finding a teacher who can inspire you to work harder is very important.
